NIPA Board, Council and EYP Steering Group kick off 2026 with real momentum
January 30, 2026
We have kicked off 2026 with real momentum.
First, we were proud to see our Chair, Tom Carpen, invited by government to join an infrastructure roundtable. The Housing Secretary and Housing Minister, along with the Chancellor and the Chief Secretary to the Treasury sitting alongside major industry leaders to discuss planning reform, delivery challenges and opportunities for the year ahead. The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government highlighted NIPA among the key organisations involved, reflecting our growing role in shaping national discussions on delivery and reform. Second, we brought together colleagues from across the Board, Council and EYP to map out an ambitious programme for 2026. Our plans include:
🔹 Regional engagement and events
🔹Skills and professional development
🔹Strengthening how NIPA is run
🔹Opportunities for members to lead NIPA activity
🔹Map out an ambitious programme for 2026 whilst growing sustainably
🔹 Strengthened networking and collaboration
🔹 Policy responses and thought leadership
🔹 New research initiatives
…and much more.
It’s set to be a big year for the infrastructure planning community — and NIPA will be working hard to ensure our members’ expertise helps shape the decisions that matter.
