On 1 February 2026, the Policy and Practice Working Group submitted the NIPA response to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) in relation to “changes to energy infrastructure planning application fees”.

As detailed in our response, NIPA members believe the proposals would benefit from further detail, justification and engagement. We have offered DESNZ the opportunity to discuss our response further, on how to address the challenges raised, and the support that NIPA could provide in terms of further evidence / data and feedback on deliverable options.
