House of Commons Select Committee for Energy Security and Net Zero inquiry – A flexible Grid for the future

Through the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee’s current inquiry, A flexible Grid for the future, the Committee is seeking evidence on how the national grid develops and whether local solutions might deliver quicker benefits. The call for evidence includes two questions specifically concerned with the effectiveness of the planning system in delivering energy infrastructure, and potential reforms needed.

NIPA has been invited to submit written evidence. The Committee is keen to hear NIPA’s views on the issues it is exploring. These include what changes to the planning system would deliver increased usage of renewable energy and how the planning system could deliver more rapid development of new local infrastructure. The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Friday 25 August.

Please would you contact us ( info@nipa-uk.org ) if you are interested in helping to frame the written evidence.
