NIPA has submitted a comprehensive response [NIPA_MHCLG Consultation – Streamlining Infrastructure Planning] to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) regarding the recent consultation on streamlining infrastructure planning. 

The Chair, Board and Policy and Practice Working Group leads extend their sincere thanks to all volunteer members who contributed their time and insights. Your input was instrumental in shaping a robust and thoughtful submission. The response addresses all 48 questions posed and reflects the collective expertise and experience of our members, aligning with the NIPA Plan.

This response builds on previous NIPA activities, including:

• Our February response to the Planning Reform Working Paper
• Thoughts we shared with MHCLG in the summer on how the proposed Guidance should approach pre-application consultation requirements
• The breakout session at the NIPA Conference in July
• The NIPA Matters discussion in October featuring views from government, The National Trust, Planning Advisory Service, and consultation experts
