Response to the National Infrastructure Commission consultation

August 5, 2016

This is a response to the consultation launched in June 2016 by the National Infrastructure Commission on the process and methodology for arriving at its National Infrastructure Assessment in 2018.

The National Infrastructure Planning Association (NIPA) is an organisation of several hundred members created to bring together all those involved in the planning and authorisation of nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs) in the UK, particularly those projects requiring development consent under the Planning Act 2008 and to promote best practice.

NIPA’s members are drawn from a wide variety of organisations: project promoters, local authorities, law firms, environmental consultants, planning consultants, surveyors and so on and all members have had an opportunity to comment on this response.
